Eagles Nest Golf Course

Golfers at Lake Guntersville State Park can now enjoy smooth rides on new sustainable concrete cart paths.

Work on the project began in spring 2024. Since May, only nine holes have been open at a time, with the front nine closed first and reopened upon completion, followed by the closure of the back nine.

“This was a cool project for us,” Spencer Glassco, General Manager of Kirkpatrick North, said. “Typically, golf course paths are constructed with asphalt paving. Concrete was chosen for its sustainability. The paths will use about 3,500 cubic yards of concrete when complete. The only significant challenge has been timing the pours to coincide with the weather,” he added.

The 18-hole course is located on top of Taylor Mountain and provides golfers with magnificent views of Guntersville Lake, combined with occasional sightings of white-tailed deer and bald eagles.
