National Cement's Southeast Terminal Network Expands

Jason Heathcock, National Cement’s Vice President of Logistics, says the addition of new terminals are a major update to the company’s existing distribution network.

“We broke ground on our eighth distribution terminal in early January 2024,” says Heathcock. “We expect the new Lebanon, TN, facility to be operational in the late third quarter of this year.”

Mark Rongey, general manager of Walker Concrete, says the new Stockbridge terminal is already having a big impact on their operation. “Tremendous help,” he says. “It’s cutting down our load times a lot. With most of our plants being located on the south side of Atlanta, Stockbridge has helped us with the hauling, helped our outside haulers turn less trucks, and get powder to us quicker. It’s been a huge help.”

The existing terminal at Greenville, SC underwent a major expansion in October 2022 which includes an additional rail track, an additional silo, and upgraded railcar unloading equipment. Capacity of the Jefferson, GA terminal has also been increased with the addition of another storage silo.
